Scope of Services

1. Anesthesia  services:

Provide state of the art anesthesia service to all type of surgery in Six (6) operating rooms, Six (6) outside OR locations and Preoperative clinic.

2.OR statistics

Perioperative clinic:
Two days per week, Sunday and Tuesday 2-4 pm. The presence of a perioperative clinic is a great advantage at KHCC. It does not exist in other hospital in Jordan. The negative if this clinic, it is not used to full capacity by the surgeons and it exists in association with surgeon’s clinic.

Pain Services:

Acute Pain Service
This is a unique pain service in Jordan. Rarely found in big hospitals. It is a rounding service 24/7, nurse based anesthesiologist supervised. It also covers pain consultations from other services.

Pain clinic:
Started as a one day clinic the first day of setting up of the department of anesthesiology and pain management. Now is a daily clinic from 2-4pm. busy 20-25 patients are seen daily. It is multidisciplinary clinic.

Interventional pain management:
As anesthesiologist we were trained and so equipped with knowledge and skills to treat and relief pain in acute and chronic pain. We managed to improve and build our skills locally by collaboration with our colleagues in interventional radiology as well as attending workshops in other countries. Also experts in the field were invited and case we done safely for KHCC patients. Unfortunately the decision by the administration and the C&P committee was destructive and not constructive in building an interventional pain practice not only at KHCC but also in Jordan.
