If you ARE covered by insurance
If you ARE NOT covered by insurance

As our patient, we care about you and want to help you understand our billing process.

To ensure that your billing is accurate and complete, make sure that we have all the correct information about you. This necessary information should include:

·         Name, Address, & Telephone number

·         Name, Address, & Telephone number of your guarantor (the person responsible for your bill)

·         Name of your insurance company, group number, plan number or other identifying numbers

·         Claims filing address and your insurance company’s telephone/contact numbers

If you ARE covered by insurance

You will want to determine the extent of your coverage. If KHCC is within your network, then most payments should be covered by the insurer. If not, you may still be treated here, but your eligibility for insurance coverage may decrease and your personal financial responsibility may increase.
Please notify us immediately if your insurance carrier changes in order to prevent delays in processing your claims with the correct carrier and posing the risk of possible denial as a result.
We will verify your insurance benefits with the plan provided by your insurer. We will also obtain pre-certifications or authorizations if necessary. You are responsible for obtaining a referral from your Primary Care Provider (PCP), if required.
When you arrive for treatment, you may be asked to pay a small deposit. If you have any open balances, you may also be asked to pay them prior to receiving any further treatment.

If you are covered by HCP…
If you have coverage through KHCF as a member of HCP, then you will need a medical report that indicates your diagnosis and treatment plan. All costs of investigations and treatment up to 25,000 JDs will be covered by the foundation according to HCP policies. You will need to contact the accounting office at KHCC who should guide you through the process of getting your costs covered. If costs of treatment exceed the maximum coverage, then you have to find an alternative source which may include
Royal Court coverage.

If you ARE NOT covered by insurance

If you are not covered by insurance, KHCC accountants may provide you with estimates of treatment costs. These costs include the following items:

·         Clinic visits

·         Diagnostic workups including imaging studies, biopsies and blood work

·         Costs of surgery: including costs of anesthesia, surgeons’ fees and postoperative care

·         Costs of chemotherapy treatment: including home medications and investigations needed before starting chemotherapy cycles

·         Costs of radiotherapy: including the costs of planning, simulation and delivery of radiotherapy

·         Rehabilitation services needed: including physical therapy and speech therapy if required

·         Hospitalization to treat complications related to different treatment modalities

Please be aware that our estimates may vary from actual treatment cost due to a variety of factors. You are responsible for the full and final cost of your care.
All self-pay patients are asked to sign an agreement to pay for services rendered. You will also be asked to provide a deposit in advance to cover the estimated cost of your treatment. If your treatment plan changes during the course of your care, you may be asked to agree to a new estimate. You also may be asked to increase your deposit.

If you need financial assistance
The costs of treating cancer may be very expensive and a financial burden. Many patients need help in paying for their care at KHCC. There are some options available and should be sought from the time of referral to KHCC. Our medical affairs office will help you file the necessary forms for one of these options if you are eligible.

Royal Court: Most Jordanian patients are eligible for Royal Court coverage. Our Medical Affairs office should guide you through the process of applying and will follow the progress of your paper work. You will be asked to bring a copy of your identification papers and will have to make a visit to the Royal Court Office located in Al Shemeisani opposite the Le Meridian Hotel. The Royal Court Coverage usually includes all costs of treatment except travel expenses and accommodations.

Goodwill funding: This special fund was established at KHCF for the treatment of Iraqi Cancer patients. As the funds are unpredictable, it is not possible to have standard ‘eligibility’ criteria. However, it is worth sending a letter to the foundation explaining your needs and estimated treatment costs.
