Why is our service unique?
The following services are provided at KHCC:
Rehabilitation medicine clinic: Held weekly to assess patient needs to rehabilitation services and follow up patients who are already engaged in a rehabilitation program.
Vision rehabilitation: A physical therapist and an occupational therapist are responsible for following up patients with visual impairments. This group of patients has special challenges; some have little vision preserved, while others are completely blind. We attempt to train those patients to use their remaining visual abilities and enhance them, using their sensations, power and coordination with little or no vision. This helps those patients reintegrate in society and maximize use of their present skills and abilities. The process is very critical for young patients whose brain development depends on their exposure to stimulation from outside environments. The program is taking its first steps, collaborating with centers inside and outside Jordan to improve the level of provided care.
Orthopedic Team: Our unit is a vital part of the orthopedic team providing rehabilitation services to patients who underwent various types of orthopedic surgeries moreover our unit is a pioneer in Limb Salvage surgeries rehabilitation.
Breast Cancer Education Clinic: Held weekly to educate patients who underwent breast surgeries about possible complications and how to prevent them helping patients return to their normal lives as soon as possible.
Lymphedema Program: This program has been launched to help patients cope with this very serious problem especially patients who underwent breast surgeries.
