The current emphasis in nursing includes that care should be based on the best empirical evidence available and incorporate patient/family beliefs and preferences. The recent emphasis on research and evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing led the Nursing Department KHCC to establish in late 2009 the first research and EBP program of its kind in hospital settings in Jordan.
Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)
The Nursing Research (NR) and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) program at KHCC is helping to bridge the gap between evidence-based resources and practice by compiling relevant literature in one place and making it easily and readily accessible. Since the inception of a NR-EBP council at KHCC, more than 18 EBP projects have been launched.
The Nursing Research and EBP program at KHCC is helping nurses to conduct original research as principle investigators, participate in multi-disciplinary research as principle investigators and co-investigators, participate in multi-center research and to ensure nursing representation in KHCC scientific committees such as the Instiutional Review Board and Research Council.
