There are few causes in our world more deserving and more urgent than the fight against cancer. Cancer has touched all of us, one way or another, and knows no boundaries.
Thankfully, cancer patients in our region now have access to the most advanced cancer care at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), the only comprehensive cancer center in the Middle East for both adult and pediatric patients and the first center in the developing world to be internationally accredited as a disease specific cancer center.
In the space of 15 short years, KHCC’s highly-qualified staff has expanded from just 2 to 220 oncologists and consultants, and our database has grown from a mere 14 patients to over 37,000! We are also immensely proud to have celebrated our 1000th pediatric cancer survivor in 2011, the ultimate proof that, against all odds, a low resource country has achieved international standards of success in cancer care.
At KHCC, it is our conviction that no one should ever be deprived of a real chance for a cure. Towards that goal, a brand-new state of the art expansion to KHCC has opened its doors and will uphold our mission of providing the most advanced care to our patients. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, this new facility will absorb up to 7000 new cancer patients annually and offer the most advanced services including performing 300 bone marrow transplants annually.
I am counting on you to join us in the fight against cancer to give a real chance for life to tens of thousands of cancer patients who need us, depend on us and put their trust in us.
With my warmest regards,
King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center
